The department of Agricultural Botany (Genetics and Plant Breeding) came into existence with the Faculty of Agriculture in the year 1963. The department is actively involved in under graduate teaching only with sanctioned post of four teaching staff, one lab assistant and one lab bearer. The semester system in Agriculture faculty was started in year 1999 based on guidelines and the courses recommended by ICAR Dean’s committee which has been up dated from time to time.
