The aim of Knowledge is truth, and the truth is the need of soul. The Rajarshi
Udai Pratap Singh Judeo summarised the purpose and object of education in the
following words :
"... Knowledge was given to man to bless and not to harass mankind. The
education that does not further the ends of Universal peace and progress is not
deserving of the name. ...' We must not efface from our minds the fact that we
are not only born in the land of Rama and Buddha but that we also lay claim to
the same blood flowing in our veins; the one most cheerfully renounced his crown
and his kingdom in obedience to his father and his king; while the other did the
same to preach universal love and peace... ".
Our founder was a person who was born a Raja and became Sanyasi by his work,
conduct and philosophy and devoted his life to the welfare of the society. Rajarshi
Ji always inspires this educational institution by the following words:
. "In the world's broad field of battle, In the bivouac of Life, Be not like dumb,
driven cattle, Be a hero in the strive. ..' The heights reached by great man were
not attained in sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, toiled in the
long unending night." These mesmerising lines give a glimpse of the great Rajarshi
Ji.”
By keeping the immortality and endurance of our benefactor and with his
blessings, Udai Pratap College, Varanasi lays the following objective:
